Thank you for supporting us directly through The Dinotopia Store! We know you have choices for purchasing books, prints, and art materials, and we're grateful you've chosen us. Our goal is to provide you with quality products and a straightforward shopping experience.
These Terms and Conditions outline how our store works and what you can expect when shopping with us. By browsing our website or making a purchase, you're agreeing to these terms, so please take a moment to read through them.
About Us
The Dinotopia Store is based in Rhinebeck, New York. We specialize in James Gurney’s books, prints, art instructional DVDs, magazines, and other related items.
Ordering and Payment
When you place an order with us, we'll do our best to fulfill it promptly. All prices on our website are in US Dollars and include shipping costs (no surprise fees at checkout). We accept major credit cards and other payment methods as shown on our checkout page.
We do reserve the right to decline orders in rare situations, such as when products are out of stock or if we detect unusual payment activity.
Sales Tax
You will be taxed for your order based on the tax rate of the jurisdiction you are ordering from. The applicable sales tax will be calculated and added to your total at checkout.
Our Shipping Promise
We currently ship only within the United States. All orders are shipped via USPS Media Mail, with the shipping cost already included in our product pricing.
After you place your order, we typically process and ship within 1-3 business days. USPS Media Mail usually takes 4-10 business days to arrive at your doorstep, depending on your location. While we can't control USPS delivery times, we'll always provide tracking information so you can follow your package's journey.
Returns and Refunds
We want you to be happy with your purchase! If you're not completely satisfied, here's how our return process works:

You can return most items within 30 days of delivery

Items should be unused and in their original packaging

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on personalized items

Digital products cannot be returned once downloaded
To start a return:

Reach out to us via email with your order number and let us know why you'd like to return the item

Ship the item back to us (return shipping is your responsibility)

Once we receive and inspect your return, we'll process your refund to your original payment method
A note about package security: If USPS confirms delivery to your address but the package is stolen, we unfortunately cannot issue a refund. We recommend having someone available to receive packages or having them delivered to a secure location.
Damaged or Incorrect Items: If you receive an item that is damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order. We will work with you to resolve the issue by offering a replacement or refund.
Intellectual Property
All the content on our website (images, text, logos, etc.) belongs to James Gurney. We respect creative work and ask that you do the same by not copying or repurposing content without permission.
Limitation of Liability
While we strive to provide the best possible experience, there are some things we need to clarify about potential issues:

This simply means that if your actions using our products or website cause legal issues, you'll help defend us and cover related costs.
