Mott the Hoople – All the Young Dudes (1972 Vinyl LP, Columbia KC 31750) – Rare Vintage Promo Copy
Add a defining piece of glam rock history to your turntable. Released in 1972, All the Young Dudes saved Mott the Hoople from breaking up, propelled by the anthemic title track written and produced for them by David Bowie. Bowie’s fingerprints are all over this record—he also played saxophone on the sessions and co-produced the album alongside MainMan.
This specific copy is an early US press featuring the original red Columbia label (shown in image.png) and includes the rare vintage white radio station promotional sticker on the back cover reading "Demonstration Not For Sale" (shown in image_2.png).
Tracklist:
-
Side 1: Sweet Jane, Momma's Little Jewel, All the Young Dudes, Sucker, Jerkin' Crocus
-
Side 2: One of the Boys, Soft Ground, Ready for Love/After Lights, Sea Diver
Condition Notes:
-
Vinyl: Very Good Plus (VG+). Clean, glossy vinyl with only a few minor paper scuffs that do not affect playback. Labels are crisp and free of writing.
-
Jacket: Very Good (VG). The black-bordered cover shows authentic shelf wear and ring wear consistent with its age (visible in image_2.png and image_3.png), but the seams remain intact and the spine is sturdy. Features the original inverted promo sticker on the reverse.
An excellent, historic spin for any serious collector of '70s rock history.
